What is the Youth Choir Dessert Fellowship?
The dessert fellowship is a churchwide event for everyone to come and enjoy free desserts and coffee. IN ADDITION, we are hosting an auction of some of the greatest and best homemade desserts selected from Quail’s finest bakers. Todd Lamb will be our auctioneer and you can bid on your favorite dessert. Pies and cakes will also be available for purchase. Take some home for your holiday gatherings!
Why We Do It
God has given the QSBC High School Youth Choir a unique and effective ministry throughout the years to reach forgotten and neglected teens across our country. The high school choir students are raising money for their 2024 mission trip to Washington D.C. May 25 – June 5, 2024. This 12-day evangelistic tour will focus on sharing the gospel through music to troubled teens in juvenile detention centers, youth prisons and shelters and will include a presentation in a women’s prison in the DC area through Senator James Lankford’s office ministries.
How Much Do We Need?
WE NEED A LOT! Currently, each student needs approximately $2000 for this 12 day mission. Expenses include one charter bus, one van/box truck, meals, lodging to and from Washington DC, tickets for events, and numerous concert t-shirts. Each student is responsible for raising their own funds and this is one of the most unique ways you can help.
Who Gets the Money Raised?
All of the money collected will be equally distributed among the students you see serving at the fellowship. There will also be “tip jars” on each table if you don’t want to bid or purchase. This is our one and only fundraiser for the year and we are praying for God to provide…through each of you…incredible gifts that will bless each student.
How To Get Involved
- Attend the fellowship and bring your family and friends.
- Bake a dessert. Homemade is preferred but store purchased desserts swill be accepted. Please be aware that NOT EVERY DESSERRT WILL BE SELECTED FOR AUCTION but all desserts will be used. We need desserts at every station. “Pick a dessert” to enjoy with coffee, “donate a dessert” to be sold for the fixed price tables, or create a masterpiece for auction.
- Enjoy and give to support these wonderful students.
- Provide a scholarship to assist families with 2 or more siblings in choir and for those students who just need more financial help. Ongoing donations can be made through QSBC, designated to the High School Choir Mission Trip.
