As we Gather, Build Up and Send Out at Quail Springs Baptist Church one key component to accomplishing our mission is the use of our building and grounds. From Connect Groups and Worship on Sundays, to the myriad of Bible Studies and support groups that meet throughout the week, the Lord has provided a wonderful campus for us to utilize for His glory.
With that in mind, it may be easy to take for granted the thousands of square feet of buildings, parking lots and green spaces on our 50 acres. But this sprawling facility is a ministry tool that requires attention from landscaping the grounds, to the data and wifi capabilities that course through the walls, not to mention management of air conditioning units that keep us comfortable! There are also the occasional times of snow and ice removal, a plumbing break or flood, or even fire damage and restoration!
All of these responsibilities fall under the care of the Director of Facilities. A vital role that we have been blessed to have godly and hardworking men fill over the years. Our most recent director, Dr. Scott Harris, who served in the position for the last 4.5 years, recently accepted a new position away from QSBC. As we say goodbye, we want to recognize the tremendous work that he accomplished. While director, he sought to not only maintain and utilize this physical resource of ministry, but also expand and enhance it.
Scott will soon begin a new ministry at Dallas Theological Seminary as a director and professor. We are sad to see Scott, his wife Kathryn, and his sons leave QSBC, but we are committed to see the Lord Gather, Build and Send us out!
John Daffron has prayerfully accepted the responsibility as our new Director of Facilities. John, his wife Beth, and their family have been members and leaders at QSBC for 15 years. John knows the ministries of QSBC well, having served and led in many areas of the church over the years. He comes to us with a heart for the church and with practical background in management. He and his family will be a blessing to us all serving in this unique ministry.
Pray for the Harris and Daffron families as they respond to the call of the Lord on their lives. Continue to pray for the Pastor Search Committee as they seek the new Senior Pastor to come to QSBC. And finally, pray that you personally would seek the Lord, and His dynamic call on your life to do whatever, and go wherever He may send you. Let us proclaim confidently, "Here Am I, Lord, Send Me!"
