Local Missions

God has determined to use the church to impact the world, and for us, the world starts right here in Oklahoma City.

The metro area has many effective ministries that need our assistance. Opportunities exist to tutor disadvantaged kids, to help internationals with English, to counsel young pregnant women, to become a coach, to serve in a rescue mission, and to spend time with the elderly. One place to begin is to plug into an existing ministry like Hope Pregnancy Center and to serve regularly. Doing so supports local ministries, mends broken lives, and enriches our own souls.

If your small group has a ministry project idea for touching lives outside the church (e.g., home repair) and if your group needs financial assistance, click here to download a project application.  We want to empower small groups to minister to the needy.

Foster Care & Adoption

All believers are to carry out the Greatest Commandment, to love God and to love others. One of the greatest ways we show our love for God is the way we love others. Foster Care and Adoption are two ways that believers can show their love for God by caring for children who are in need of stable, secure, and loving homes. The Foster Care and Adoption Ministry of Quail Springs Baptist Church exists to inform our members about the needs of children in our community, state, nation, and the world and how they can be involved in caring for them. It exists to prepare our interested members in becoming a foster or adoptive family. Finally, it exists to encourage and support our members who become foster and adoptive families through support groups, resources, and affirmation in their care of children. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. -James 1:27 Information – The Foster Care and Adoption Ministry at Quail Springs Baptist Church seeks to inform the members of QSBC about the needs in our communities, cities, state, nation and world for foster and adoptive families. We seek to provide information prospective foster and adoptive families need as they begin the process. Involvement – The Foster Care and Adoption Ministry at Quail Springs Baptist Church seeks to actively involve members of QSBC in the engagement of the needs of our communities, our cities, our state, our nation, and our world by becoming a foster or adoptive family, supporting, encouraging and providing ministry to foster and adoptive families. Support – The Foster Care and Adoption Ministry at Quail Springs Baptist Church seeks to provide support groups for foster and adoptive families. Understanding that foster care and adoption bring about a variety of challenges and victories, QSBC seeks to provide support to families who walk this journey. The ministry also seeks to involve other members of QSBC to come alongside these families in support through meals, respite care, baby sitting, prayer, and encouragement. Resources – The Foster Care and Adoption Ministry at Quail Springs Baptist Church seeks to provide resources to foster and adoptive families. We understand that when a child is placed in your home, you may have needs. Our ministry hopes to provide a network of people who can help meet any physical need that may arise in a foster or adoptive family. We also seek to provide resources to foster and adoptive families that will help them grow in their ministry of foster care and/or adoption. Education – The Foster Care and Adoption Ministry at Quail Springs Baptist Church seeks to provide opportunities for prospective foster and adoptive families to be educated on where to get started, who to work with, and what they can expect. Our ministry also hopes to provide continuing education opportunities for current foster and adoptive families. For more information contact Jeff DeGiacomo at

Whiz Kids

Problem. Did you know that nearly one-third of 4th graders in Oklahoma read below a satisfactory level of proficiency? These Oklahoma children need help. That is where Whiz Kids comes in. Solution. Whiz Kids is a faith-based, one-on-one volunteer tutoring/mentoring program that focuses on first through sixth grade students who live in areas that have some of the highest drop-out rates and lowest socioeconomic levels in Oklahoma City. Whiz Kids is proactive and preventative in nature, targeting inner-city schools and students who are reading below grade level and who could benefit most from a one-on-one relationship with a caring adult. Through Whiz Kids, QSBC partners with Baptist Temple to provide tutors for children at Sequoya Elementary School. The program occurs on Mondays from 3:00–5:00pm. Opportunity. We need tutors for about 50 children. We also need substitute tutors, people who can help on occasion. QSBC Contacts for Whiz Kids: Marilyn Garman 405-317-7071 Neil Hopkins 405-627-5888
